Message	like 1/3 of and inch. It will only shrink so much before it stops. Wouldn't crack, not that i know of, or fade. it's up to you to try it. I know that at the end there's going to be the sticky tape stuck on the trim but if you're trim is as bad as mine you wouldn't care. do this whenever it starts going to shit (like a rock chips the tape) and you'll be fine. I just don't seem to care about my trim since it's in such bad shape.
